BRAVO TARGETS WINDIES RECALL

Back
By Author CPL
What a CPL it was for Dwayne Bravo.

Not only did he lead his Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel outfit to their maiden Caribbean Premier League triumph but he also had a stellar tournament individually.

Bravo finished way out in front as leading wicket taker with 28 - a full 12 ahead of Krishmar Santokie in second - and also contributed 173 runs with the bat.

That performance followed an outstanding IPL, in which Bravo also ended top of the wickets table but saw his Chennai Super Kings side defeated in the final by Mumbai Indians.

And he’s hoping that fine form can help him nudge his way back into the international reckoning with the West Indies.

“The form continues from the IPL and that is good,” he said. “It’s good that I can still perform at this level.

“Hopefully I sent a message to the selectors. I’m still happy to play and represent the West Indies at some point in time.”

Bravo has played 40 Test matches for his country, 164 one-day internationals and 53 T20 Internationals.

His last match for the West Indies came in a T20I against South Africa in January but he was left out of the ODI squad that travelled to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

He added: “I’ll just continue to play well as much as I can.”
