CPL stars set to light up ICC World Twenty20 India  

Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, AB de Villiers, Martin Guptill, Shane Watson, Shakib Al Hasan and Lasit Malinga just some of the CPL stars who are set to feature in ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 after the squads were confirmed on Tuesday.

The 27-day event begins in Nagpur on 8 March with 19 men’s players set to feature in their sixth straight event, while Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the finals on 3 April.

West Indies trio Dwayne Bravo, Gayle and Denesh Ramdin will be aiming to feature for the sixth successive event, which were previously staged in South Africa, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Zouks favourite Darren Sammy will lead the West Indies who will bid to regain the title they last won in 2012 in Sri Lanka.

South Africa’s de Villiers, Sri Lanka pace bowler Malinga and Australia all-rounder Watson – who will all feature in the CPL later this summer – will each attend their sixth straight ICC World Twenty20 alongside Black Caps duo Nathan McCullum and Ross Taylor JP Duminy, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.
