The 'Universe Boss' is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in world cricket. Playing as an opening batsman, he got the record for the fastest century in T20 cricket (30 balls) and also the record for the fastest 50 in T20s which he scored in just 12 balls.
In international cricket, he was the first centurion in T20Is smashing a 57 ball 117 against South Africa in the inaugural edition of the World Twenty20 in 2007. He also holds the record for the highest score in T20s, coming in IPL 2013 when he scored 175*against Pune Warriors.
In IPL, Gayle was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011 and from then on there was no looking back. Gayle now holds the record for the highest number of sixes (326) and fours (368) in IPL. Presently, Gayle plays for the Kings XI Punjab franchise, who snapped him up in the final stages of the 2018 IPL Auction.
In the CPL, Chris Gayle led the Tallawahs to their first title in 2013. He was also the top scorer for the team with 234 runs in nine innings. He once again led the team to their second title triumph in 2016, and he was the top scorer for the team, the third highest in the season with 425 runs from 13 innings. Presently, he is the highest run scorer in the league, and is the only player to score over 2000 runs in CPL.
After a two-year stint captaining St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, whom he took to the final in 2017, Chris Gayle is back home to play for the Jamaica Tallawahs in CPL 2019.
