Global broadcasters announced for 2015 CPL!

The global broadcasters for the 2015 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) tournament have been announced, ensuring that the Biggest Party in Sport will be beamed into over 200 million households across the world.

Big-name broadcasters such as Sony Six (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Maldives), BT Sport (UK), Guardian Group (Caribbean), ESPN (USA and Caribbean), Fox Sports (Australia), SuperSport (South Africa) and Sky (New Zealand) have all signed deals to carry live coverage of this year’s tournament, with a broadcaster in Pakistan and Bangladesh expected to be confirmed before the tournament starts.

Last year’s competition attracted a global audience in excess of 65 million, and this year is set to be even higher as fans across the world continue to be drawn to the high quality action on the pitch and the unique party atmosphere off it.

Damien O’Donohoe, CEO, Hero Caribbean Premier League, said: “Our global viewing figures almost doubled last year, from 35 million to 65 million, as word spread about the Biggest Party in Sport.

"This year’s competition promises to be bigger and better than ever before, and we’re confident that we will continue to increase our global reach in partnership with some of some of the world’s most prominent broadcasters."

At the Hero CPL, global superstars including Kevin Pietersen, Jacques Kallis and Shahid Afridi will join the Caribbean’s finest cricketers, like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo, as well as exciting up-and-coming local talent.

The competition will feature 33 matches, and kicks off with a repeat of last year’s final, with defending champions, Barbados Tridents, hosting Guyana Amazon Warriors, at Kensington Oval, on Saturday 20 June.

The final, at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad, will take place on Sunday 26 July.
