Nicholas Pooran was CPL’s youngest player when he debuted in the competition back in 2013. He went on to score a quick-fire 54 off just 24 balls on his CPL debut to announce his arrival. He then went on to perform well in the U-19 World Cup, where he scored 303 runs in just six matches, becoming the highest scorer for the Windies.
The Wicketkeeper batsman returned to CPL in 2016 after an injury where he impressed again scoring over 200 runs with a strike rate of 197! Post his performances in CPL 2016, he was handed his international debut.
Three years on, in 2019, Pooran topped the run scoring charts for the Windies in the World Cup including a century against Sri Lanka. In the Bangladesh Premier League, Pooran smashed 28 sixes, the most by any player in the 2018/19 season.
This will be Pooran’s seventh CPL season. He was brought in by Guyana Amazon Warriors as their marquee player in the 2019 season and retained for 2020.
