Caribbean Airlines has been named as the official carrier of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League.
Michael DiLollo, Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Airlines stated, “This partnership represents the best that the Caribbean has to offer, it’s a natural fit for both our brands. The fans who are following the series from London, North America and within the region will begin their experience with Caribbean Airlines the moment they step on board.”
As the official carrier of the Caribbean Premier League, Caribbean Airlines will transport the teams to matches in Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana and Grenada.
“When you look at the challenges of holding a major international sports league across the Caribbean Islands, it becomes obvious that the best strategic partner for any such event is Caribbean Airlines. With that in mind we are delighted to have Caribbean Airlines onboard as the Official Airline of the CPL,” said Jamie Stewart, Commercial Director of the Caribbean Premier League.
“Whether it be in terms of getting the players across the region as per of their hectic playing schedule, or making sure that fans can follow their teams as they progress, Caribbean Airlines is playing a vitally important role and we are delighted to have their support and to see the branded "CAL/CPL Express" flying high.”
To celebrate this partnership, Caribbean Airlines unveiled a decal on its Boeing 737-800 aircraft which has been branded with the CPL logos at its Piarco Hangar location on 27 March.
Speaking at the unveiling, Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Gerard Hadeed, described the partnership as “a wonderful mix".
He added: "Caribbean Airlines, with its warmth of the islands, will be bringing people together for the Biggest Party in Sport. As a critical aspect of our tourism product, we are proud to have Caribbean Airlines bring guests to Trinidad and Tobago and to the rest of the Caribbean Region.”
The third running of the Caribbean Premier League starts on Saturday 20 June, with the final on Sunday 26 July.
